Benjamin Gerber has held a variety of positions in the energy and business sectors. From 2001 to 2009, they were the Owner of J&B Sealcoating and Paving. In 2009, they moved on to become a Legal and Public Policy Analyst at National Wind, where they analyzed regulatory compliance and monitored wind energy legislation. In 2010, they became a Government Relations professional at Fredrikson & Byron, where they worked with clients to understand their legislative needs and devise strategies to achieve success. From 2011 to 2012, they were an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of Mary, Bismarck North Dakota. Finally, from 2015 to present, they have been the Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Renewable Energy Tracking System (M-RETS). At M-RETS, they oversee a proprietary web-based database platform that tracks Renewable Energy Certificates (“RECs”) and Renewable Thermal Certificates (“RTCs”).
Benjamin Gerber's education history includes attending the International Academy from 1997 to 2001, the University of Michigan from 2001 to 2005 where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government, the Mitchell Hamline School of Law from 2007 to 2010 where they earned a J.D. in Law, and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs from 2014 to 2015 where they participated in the Center for the Study of Policy and Governance Policy Fellows Program.
