Risto Vainio has a diverse work experience in the field of design and user experience. Risto is currently working as a Senior UX Designer at M-Files since May 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Graphics & UX Designer at Suunto from May 2015 to May 2021. Before that, they worked as a Concept & UI Designer at Sports Tracker from April 2012 to May 2015. Risto also has experience as a Graphic Designer at Grayling Designs from January 2012 to April 2012. Risto has worked at Nokia Oyj / Design as a User experience designer from March 2009 to December 2011. Before that, they held the position of Senior User Experience Manager at Strategic Design, Nokia Oyj from December 2007 to November 2009. Risto started their career as a Graphics Project Manager at Nokia from 2002 to 2006. Risto also worked as an Art Director at Iconmedialab from 1999 to 2002.

Risto Vainio attended the Lahti Institute of Design from 1981 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Photography.
