Aline Muller has extensive work experience in the field of economics and finance. Aline started their career in 1996 as the President of Anesec. Aline then worked as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Faculteit der Managementwetenschappen (Radboud University Nijmegen) from 2004 to 2006. Aline subsequently became a Research Fellow in International Finance at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics from 2006 to 2014.
In 2006, Aline also joined HEC University of Liège, where they held multiple roles including Associate Professor of International Finance from 2006 to 2008, and later became a Professor of Finance. Aline additionally served as a Visiting Professor of International Finance at the University of Luxembourg from 2005 onwards.
Since 2016, Aline has been working at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), where they currently hold the position of Chief Executive Officer. Aline is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the organization.
Aline's most recent role is as a Board Member at Banque Centrale du Luxembourg, which they started in 2021.
In addition to their professional positions, Aline has also served in various leadership roles, including as Chairman of the Board (acting) at the Luxembourg Agency for Research Integrity (LARI) since December 2020.

Aline Muller obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in International Finance from Maastricht University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Financial Economics, with a focus on Financial Markets, at the University of Liège, from 1993 to 1998.
