Michael Hughes has been working in the engineering field for over 30 years. Michael began their career in 1990 as a Mechanical Engineer at Deep Ocean Engineering Inc. Michael then worked as a Contract Mechanical Engineer and Consultant from 1996 to 2002. From 2002 to 2004, they were a Civil Structural Engineer at All Mountain Civil Engineering. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Hadal Inc. Michael then moved to Ekso Bionics as a Director of Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2018. Most recently, they have been a Director of Mechanical Engineering at LUUM since 2018.

Michael Hughes attended UC San Diego from 1982 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
