Melanie Gibbons has extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, currently serving as Senior Director of Development at Lutheran World Relief since June 2009. In this role, Melanie leads the Outreach and Engagement unit, developing and implementing programs that foster connections between congregations, individuals, and the organization's initiatives. Previous titles include Deputy Director of Outreach & Engagement and Associate Director of Outreach & Engagement. Melanie also managed the gifts in kind program as Quilt & Kit Ministry Manager, engaging thousands of U.S. supporters. Prior to this, Melanie held various positions at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, focusing on community outreach, advocacy, and public policy. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
