Shannon Truax has extensive experience in public works administration, currently serving as the Operations Manager for the City of Rapid City since December 2018, where responsibilities include overseeing administrative and operational processes, focusing on organizational management, budgeting, and project management. Previous roles in the City include Interim Public Works Assistant Director, and Executive and Administrative Coordinator positions, providing leadership support and executive assistance. Additionally, Shannon has worked as a Direct Support Professional at Lutheran Social Services of SD since June 2014, supporting youth and young adults in developing independent living skills. Experience also includes positions as Office Manager at B9Creations, Administrative Assistant at McKie Automotive Group, Collections Representative at Green Tree Servicing, and Site Coordinator at Western South Dakota Senior Services. Education includes participation in Leadership Rapid City and completion of the SD CEO Women in Leadership program in 2019, along with a high school diploma from Chamberlain High School.
