Mike Rodewald has extensive experience in the non-profit and education sectors. Mike served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Lutheran Bible Translators from June 2014 to December 2022, and later became the Emeritus Chief Executive Officer in January 2023. Mike also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia Theological Seminary since July 2016. Prior to these roles, they held various leadership positions at The LCMS, including Regional Director - Africa, where they were responsible for strategy development, managing church-workers and projects, and facilitating relations with mission partners in Africa. Mike also worked as a Language Use Consultant at Lutheran Bible Translators, partnering with the Lutheran Church of Southern Africa and contributing to language research, translation, literacy, and material production. Overall, Mike Rodewald has a diverse background in organizational leadership, education, and language-related work.
Mike Rodewald received their MA degree in Linguistics from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1989. Mike then went on to pursue further studies, obtaining a PhD in Missiology from Concordia Theological Seminary from 1999 until 2007.
