Brendan Moran has a strong background in technology and product development, with experience in various roles and industries. Brendan currently works as the Sr. Director of Display Technology at Lumileds, where they are responsible for leading microLED technology development and strategic planning. Prior to this, Brendan held the position of Sr. Director of Product Development, Camera Flash at Lumileds, where they successfully led the development and release of over 25 camera flash products. Brendan also played a key role as a Technical Project Leader, leading a team to develop an industry-first white light chip scale package LED product. Brendan's earlier experience includes working as a Senior Development Engineer at Lumileds, focusing on automotive forward lighting LED product development. Before joining Lumileds, they worked at Allux Medical as a Principal Engineer, leading the development of a novel UVB LED based device for localized phototherapy. Brendan also has research experience from their time as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Santa Barbara, where they worked on the design, growth, and characterization of III-nitride LEDs. Overall, Brendan's work experience showcases their expertise in technology development, product management, and team leadership.
Brendan Moran earned their Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1998. Brendan then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Engineering at UC Santa Barbara, completing their studies in 2004.
