Ignasi Belda Punzano has been working in the field of biomedical engineering since 2018. Ignasi began their career as an R&D Engineering Intern at the CREB UPC - Research Centre for Biomedical Engineering, where they were part of the Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering Research Group (BBT). Ignasi'sduties included mechanical and biological testing of implantable biomaterials such as scaffolds, dental implants, polymers or biological adhesives, as well as surface characterization tests and treatments of biomaterials. In 2019, they joined Lumendo as a Product Manager and R&D Engineer.
Ignasi Belda Punzano has a diverse educational background. Ignasi began their studies in 2010 at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biosystems Engineering in 2016. In 2017, they enrolled in the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and completed their Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2019. In 2018, they completed an MSc Exchange Studies at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in Biomedical Engineering. Ignasi is currently enrolled at the University of Bern, where they are pursuing a DAS in Translational Medicine and Biomedical Enterpreneurship, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
In addition to their formal education, Ignasi Belda Punzano has obtained several certifications. These include Basics of Regulatory Affairs in MedTech from Medidee (2021), Catia V5 CAD Software from Dassault Systèmes (2015), 3D Printing Applications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Bioprinting: 3D Printing Bodyparts from the University of Wollongong, and an IELTS Language Certificate (C1) from the Cambridge Language School.
