Michael Riedijk has been an entrepreneur in the technology and software industry for over 20 years. Michael began their career in 1998 as the Founder and CEO of Green Valley, a software company providing technology and know-how to help the Government transform into an e-Government. From 2010 to 2012, they were the Founder and CEO of PageFreezer Software Inc., a privately held software firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia that developed and supported software for monitoring, retention, compliance and eDiscovery of website and social media data. In 2012, they founded West Coast Ventures, Inc., an early-stage private investment firm focused on innovative software and green/clean tech start-ups. In 2014, they founded Lucent BioSciences, Inc. and the Oceaneos Marine Research Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver developing technology to address the critical problem of global fishery and marine ecosystem collapse as a result of climate change.
Michael Riedijk obtained their High School degree from Krimpenerwaard College between 1984 and 1991. Michael then went on to earn their Master's Degree in Industrial Design Engineering from Delft University of Technology between 1991 and 1998. In 2018, they obtained their Certified ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance in May. Finally, in 2019, they obtained their Internal Auditor ISO 27001:2013 certification from IMSM in January.
