Valery de Smedt currently serves as the Head of Research LABOpro at LUCA School of Arts since August 2019 and is a member of the Board of Directors for multiple organizations, including playField., aifoon, ANIMA ETERNA, and kunstencentrum KAAP. Valery de Smedt previously held the position of Creative Director at CREW from October 2014 to February 2019, contributing to the Dreamspace project under the EU FP7 program. Earlier experience includes serving as studiomanager at atelier Jan De Cock from December 2012 to February 2014. Valery de Smedt holds a Master in Fine & Decorative Arts from Christie's Education and multiple degrees from Ghent University, including a B.A. in Art History and Master's degrees in Media & Communication and Cultural Studies.
