John Walters currently serves as the Vice President of External Affairs at Louisiana State University, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this role, John worked at Chevron as a Senior State Government Affairs Representative from June 2021 to January 2023. John has extensive experience in governmental relations, having served as the Vice President and Director of Governmental Relations at Associated Builders and Contractors of Louisiana from August 2008 to June 2021. Earlier in the career, John was a staff member at the Louisiana House of Representatives from June 1998 to August 2008. John holds a B.A. in History from Louisiana State University, where studies were completed between 1992 and 1997.
