Ellen Breakfield-Glick

Substitute Clarinet at Louisville Orchestra

Ellen Breakfield-Glick is an accomplished clarinetist and music educator, currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Clarinet at Western Michigan University since June 2019. Breakfield-Glick's extensive experience includes tenures with CityMusic Cleveland as a clarinet and bass clarinet player, and as the Clarinetist-in-Residence for the NEA-funded "Music in the American Wild" project. Additional roles include substitute clarinet positions with the Louisville Orchestra and Jacksonville Symphony, as well as freelance performance opportunities. Breakfield-Glick has held faculty positions at Cleveland State University and directed the MPulse Summer Clarinet Institute at the University of Michigan. Noteworthy achievements include receiving the 2016 Cleveland State University Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching, along with an impressive academic background featuring a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music with Distinction from the Eastman School of Music.
