Maria Bennett is an experienced museum professional currently serving as the Museum Special Projects Coordinator and Exhibits Curator at the Louisiana State Museum since January 2016. In this role, Maria collaborates with the curatorial and collections teams to plan upcoming exhibits, designs graphics and gallery layouts using Adobe Creative Suite, and fabricates labels and signage tailored to exhibit needs. Previous roles include Archivist and Studio Assistant at David Salle Studio, Curatorial Intern positions at the Museum of Arts and Design and El Museo del Barrio, and Gallery Intern at the University at Buffalo Art Galleries. Maria holds a Master of Arts in Museology/Museum Studies from Southern University at New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History from the University at Buffalo.
