Joyce Ann Miller is an accomplished museum historian with extensive experience in historical research and editing. Since October 2012, Joyce has been serving as a Museum Historian at the Louisiana State Museum. Prior to this role, Joyce held positions including Editor at LEH from January 2008 to October 2011, and Historical Resources Specialist at Eastern Kentucky University from February 2006 to February 2007. Joyce also worked as the NEH Endowed Professor of Appalachian Studies at Berea College from August 2004 to May 2005, and served as a Folklife Specialist with the Kentucky Folklife Program from July 1999 to June 2001. Joyce holds a Master’s degree from the University of Mississippi, a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley, and has completed all but dissertation in American Studies at the University of Maryland.
