Yvonne McIlwaine is an experienced flute teacher with a prominent teaching role at Birmingham Conservatoire and Loughborough Schools Foundation since September 2022, as well as a long-term position at Rugby School since April 2005. With a focus on instructing students aged 11-18 years, Yvonne conducts several ensembles, including the Flute Choir and Flute Quartet, and provides coaching for the Concert Band and Symphony Orchestra. In addition to teaching, Yvonne has been a freelance musician since 1996 and served as Events Coordinator for The British Flute Society from March 2001 to September 2006. Yvonne holds a Master’s degree in Performance from Birmingham Conservatoire and a Bachelor’s degree in Performance from The University of Huddersfield.
