Matthew Sollars has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matthew started their career as a Performance Athlete for GB Canoeing, showcasing dedication and professionalism. Matthew then worked as a Commercial Team Intern at Sport England and as an Intern Copywriter at Archibald Ingall Stretton, where they created copy and concepts for various marketing materials. Matthew also gained experience as a Weekly Columnist for the Nottingham Evening Post. Matthew later joined the Olympic News Service as a Reporter during the 2012 Olympics. Matthew then transitioned into event management roles at Incisive Media, where they worked as an Events Producer, Senior Events Producer, and Conference Manager, responsible for the strategic development and production delivery of events. Most recently, Matthew has been with Loughborough Schools Foundation, serving as a Graduate Sports Assistant, Teacher of English/Sports Coach, Head of House, and currently as Head of Year, overseeing a specific year group and organizing events for a co-curricular house.
Matthew Sollars began their education at Lavington School, where they obtained 10 GCSEs with grades A-B, including an A in English and Maths. Matthew then attended King's School, Bruton from 2004 to 2006, where they achieved A Levels in English (B), Maths (C), and Theatre Studies (A). Following this, Matthew pursued their undergraduate degree at Loughborough University from 2007 to 2011, earning a BA Hons in English. More recently, in the year 2016 to 2017, they attended the University of Buckingham, where they completed a PGCE (QTS) in Education with a focus on English.
