Yuji Akimoto currently serves as the Director of Baseball Product Development for the Los Angeles Dodgers, having held various roles including Quantitative Research Engineer and Quantitative Analyst since January 2019. Prior experience includes a position as Team Lead and Course Instructor at Cornell Data Science, where Yuji designed and taught a seminar on neural networks, and as an NLP Engineer focusing on attention mechanisms in machine comprehension. Yuji also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Cornell University, contributing to automated algorithm selection and hyper-parameter tuning, and served as a Teaching Assistant for a course on big messy data. Additional internships include a Software Engineering Intern at Slack, a Machine Learning & Backend Engineer at Wove, Inc., and a Machine Learning Intern at Avinton. Yuji holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Operations Research & Information Engineering from Cornell University and previously studied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Oxford.
