Mike Cales is an accomplished materials scientist and technology thought leader with a career spanning over two decades in product development and research across various industries. Currently serving as the Team Leader of the Global Silicone Technology Team and Continuous Improvement Champion at Loparex since March 2022, Mike is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt focused on optimizing product design to enhance performance and streamline material usage. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Scientist at Loparex, Senior Research Engineer at AO Smith and Sonoco Inc., and Research Scientist at multiple organizations, where Mike has significantly contributed to advancements in silicone release coatings, polymer chemistry, and innovative materials. Mike holds a B.E. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Chemistry with a focus on physical chemistry from Cleveland State University.
