Tom Hale has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Tom started their career as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Idaho National Laboratory, where they conducted individual research on "light control by light itself" and made significant contributions in optical wave mixing and ultrasound detection. Tom then joined Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Technical Staff Member, specializing in the development of hyperspectral imaging technology and the design of advanced spectrometers and interferometers. Tom later moved on to Alcon Laboratories, Inc. as a Principal Scientist, where they oversaw the design and construction of metrology systems and proposed new product concepts to address medical needs. After that, Tom worked as a Mechanical and Optical Engineer at Gas Sensing Technologies Corp. and as a Senior Optical Engineer at Zebra Imaging. Tom then joined Blue Canyon Technologies as a Principal Engineer before transitioning to II-VI Aerospace & Defense as a Senior Principal Engineer. Currently, Tom is serving as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at LongPath Technologies, Inc.
Tom Hale has an extensive education history. Tom obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering between 1979 and 1984. Subsequently, from 1986 to 1988, they pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. Lastly, they completed their academic journey at Northwestern University, where they earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from 1990 to 1994.
