Mark Powers currently serves as an Administrator for Research Information Systems at Long Beach Unified School District, a position held since August 2017, where oversight includes managing a team of developers and supporting data-driven instruction initiatives. Prior to this role, Mark was a Supervising Software Applications Engineer at the same district from July 2001 to 2017, focusing on software development, server management, system integration, and database administration. Mark's career began as a Senior Consultant at PTC from June 1995 to January 2001, specializing in Mechanica software for finite element analysis and dynamic motion analysis. Mark holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, obtained between 1986 and 1993.
