Maura Burns has a diverse work experience in the education field. Maura started their career as a Social Worker in Schaumburg School District 54 in 2002 and worked there until 2012. Maura then joined Geneva Community Unit School District 304 as an Assistant Principal from 2012 to 2014. Maura Burns then became the Principal at Mades-Johnstone Center (MJC) via Mid-Valley Special Education Cooperative from 2014 to 2019. Currently, they are working at Lombard School District 44, where they started as a Principal from 2019 to 2020 and is now serving as the Assistant Director of Special Education.
Maura Burns has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which they obtained from Loyola University Chicago between 1993 and 1996. Maura further pursued their education at the same institution and completed a Master's in Social Work from 1998 to 2000. Later, in 2011 and 2012, they attended Roosevelt University and obtained a School Administrative Certificate, specializing in Elementary and Middle School Administration/Principalship.
