Alberto Merlo is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in cultural management and education. Currently serving as the Manager of the LOEWE FOUNDATION since March 2017, Alberto leads various cultural initiatives, including prestigious awards such as the Craft Prize and International Poetry Prize. Since September 2023, Alberto has held the position of Module Leader and Teacher at the European School of Economics, instructing in Event Management and Arts and Culture Management across multiple international campuses. Previously, Alberto was a Cultural Affairs Officer at the Consulate General of Spain in New York, where Alberto managed over 600 cultural events and forged partnerships with local institutions. Alberto's earlier roles include being a Cultural Coordinator and Project Assistant, along with a background as a Retail Specialist at Apple. Alberto holds an M.B.A. in Arts Management from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano from the Madrid Royal Conservatory.
