David Phipson has an extensive work experience spanning over several industries and roles. David started their career as a Branch Manager and Trade Finance Lead at Bidvest, where they managed the freight logistics and trade finance operations, establishing a global trade finance business within the company. David then moved on to work as a Senior Strategy & Operations Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, focusing on strategic analysis and functional design, including business cases and design of corporate shared services. David worked as an eCommerce Consultant and Program Manager at the NSW Department of Finance & Services, where they played a key role in system functional design and project management for a complex electronic marketplace. David later joined DP World as an IT Program Manager, overseeing the multi-million-dollar replacement of core IT systems and leading business and IT strategy planning. Currently, they are the Managing Director at Lodestone Solutions Pty Ltd, specializing in travel insurance claims and driving global business growth.

David Phipson has a diverse education history. David obtained an Executive MBA in Information Technology from the University of Technology Sydney in 2004-2005. In 1998, they attended Northwestern University and received a SCM degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management. In 1996, they earned a H Dip SCM from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. David completed a Bachelor of Commerce - Honours in Finance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 1989-1990, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance at the same university from 1986-1988. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Internal Systems Auditor from ISACA.
