Christopher Yakacki is a Principal Research Engineer at Lockheed Martin, focusing on emerging materials research, computational designs, and additive manufacturing since July 2023. Previously, Christopher served as a Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Denver from January 2012 to July 2023, specializing in liquid-crystalline elastomers and their biomedical applications. As President and CTO of Impressio Inc. from July 2017 to May 2022, Christopher led the commercialization of liquid-crystal elastomers and achieved recognition through the NFL's 1st and Future Pitch Competition. Additional roles include Principal Scientist at MedShape, Inc., and Adjunct Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology. Christopher earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, where earlier work involved shape-memory polymer research.
