Matthew Baumann has extensive work experience in software development and project management roles. Matthew started their career at LMI Technologies as a Senior Software Developer and Senior Team Lead, where they led the Production Platform Team and oversaw the development of an in-house manufacturing execution system. Prior to that, they worked at Motion Metrics International Corp as a Product Manager and Software Developer, responsible for project management and development of a computer vision platform for mining shovels. Matthew also has research experience as a Research Assistant at the UBC Laboratory for Computational Intelligence, specializing in computer vision and robot path planning. Additionally, they were a Software Developer and Robot Designer at the UBC Thunderbird Robotics Club, where they developed vision guidance software for a racing robot. Earlier in their career, Matthew had an internship at Microsoft as a Software Development Engineer and worked as a teacher, teaching computer animation.
Matthew Baumann attended Saint George's from 1997 to 2002. Matthew then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at The University of British Columbia from 2002 to 2006. Matthew went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Robotics at The University of British Columbia from 2006 to 2009.
