Kathy Powell has extensive experience in library services, having worked at Live Oak Public Libraries since 1998 in various roles, including Library Associate, Library Assistant 2, and Library Branch Manager. In recent years, Kathy adapted to operational changes by assisting at the Circulation desk at the Bull Street Library. Previously, Kathy managed a small library in historic downtown Savannah, GA, and began their career as a Page. Prior to their library career, Kathy was an Instructional Assistant at Fairfax County Public Schools, providing individualized support to students. Kathy holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Northern Virginia Community College and a high school diploma from Mt. Vernon High School.
