Tara Porterfield is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in employment law and litigation. As Senior Counsel at Littler since January 2024, Tara focuses on employment law issues. Prior to this role, Tara spent over two decades at Vinson & Elkins, serving as Counsel in the Employment, Labor, and OSHA Section from 2000 to 2023. Earlier career experience includes working as an Associate Attorney in commercial litigation at Clements, O'Neill, Pierce, Nickens, Wilson & Fulkerson LLP from 1997 to 2000 and as a Judicial Law Clerk for The Honorable Stephen S. Trott at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from 1996 to 1997. Tara holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Wesleyan University, along with a high school diploma from St. John's School.
