Monica Claassen has a strong background in web development and Drupal. Monica started their career as an Information Specialist/Web Developer at the University of Kansas Libraries in 2002, where they created websites and web applications using PHP/Zend Framework. Monica also trained web content creators during their time there. In 2012, Monica moved on to Johnson County Library as a Web Content Developer, where they were responsible for Drupal site building and maintenance, as well as importing data from external sources. Monica then joined KU Information Technology in 2014 as a Web Developer, focusing on Drupal website maintenance and enhancements. Currently, Monica is working at Littler as a Lead Drupal Developer, leading the brand refresh project and specializing in front-end development.
Monica Claassen has a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Emporia State University, which they obtained in 2011. Monica also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Global Studies with a minor in Spanish from Bethel College-North Newton. Additionally, they are a certified Drupal Developer, having obtained the Drupal Certified Developer - D7 certification from Acquia in 2018.
