Valerie Marte has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Valerie started their career as a Residential Counselor at North American Family Institute, Inc. in 1998, providing structure, guidance, and support for adolescent males with sexually harmful behaviors. Valerie then moved on to become a Shift Supervisor, overseeing the program and ensuring the safety of clients and staff. In 2001, Valerie transitioned to the role of Clinical Case Manager, working with a population of male adolescents with sexually harmful behavior and managing a case load of 10+ clients.

Valerie Marte's experience in the mental health field continued at Team Coordinating Agency, Inc., where they worked as a Mental Health Clinician. In this role, they conducted assessments for clients in the custody of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and provided therapy, while documenting data for placement purposes.

Valerie then joined HES/Family Networks as a Care Manager in 2006, where they identified alternatives to residential services to prevent DCF placement, supervised service coordinators, and provided support to DCF social workers. Valerie later became a Program Director at North American Family Institute, Inc., overseeing a program for male and female clients with Department of Mental Health (DMH) support who had recently been released from prison, substance abuse treatment facilities, or mental hospitalizations.

From 2008 to 2013, Valerie Marte worked as a Licensed Mental Health Clinician at North American Family Institute, Inc., serving a female population with multiple diagnoses and providing individual, group, and family counseling. Valerie also communicated with external funding sources such as DCF, DYS, probation, education, and parents.
