Helen Egger

Co-Founder & Chief Medical/Scientific Officer at Little Otter

Helen Egger MD has a long and distinguished career in the field of child mental health. Helen began their career in 1993 as a NIH T32 Post-doctoral Fellow, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow, and Adult Psychiatry Resident at Duke University Medical Center. In 2003, they joined ZERO TO THREE as a Member of the Diagnostic Classification: 0-5 Workgroup, Board Member of the Board of Directors, and Member of the Diagnostic Classification: 0-3 Revised Workgroup. In 2011, they returned to Duke University Medical Center as a Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Division Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In 2016, they joined NYU Langone Health as Director of the Child Study Center, Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Founder and co-Director of WonderLab, a digital health initiative. Most recently, in 2020, they became Co-Founder and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer of Little Otter, a digital platform to deliver quality, personalized care to families.

Helen Egger MD obtained their Doctor of Medicine - MD from Yale University School of Medicine between 1986 and 1991. Prior to this, they completed a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Yale University between 1979 and 1983. Helen also holds a High School Diploma from Phillips Academy, which they obtained between 1976 and 1979.
