Laura Jane Castro is a seasoned educator and literacy specialist with extensive experience in bilingual and dual language instruction. Currently serving as a Literacy Specialist at Literacy Resources since August 2021, Laura previously worked in various roles within the Community Consolidated School District 59 from August 2013 to November 2020, including 8th Grade Language Arts Teacher and Instructional Coach, focusing on literacy development for K-5 students. Laura's teaching experience spans multiple school districts, with roles such as 5th Grade Dual Language Teacher at Crystal Lake School District 47, Bilingual Teacher at Community Consolidated School District 15, and Bilingual Paraprofessional at School District #300. Laura's foundational education includes a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, obtained in 2005.
