Nicolas Joannin is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in AI engineering, particularly in developing and maintaining terminologies and ontologies for Natural Language Processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence applications. Currently serving as Associate Director of AI Engineering at Linguamatics since October 2016, Nicolas previously held roles including Senior Life Science Specialist, where expertise in biomedical ontologies and knowledge extraction was demonstrated. Prior experience includes leadership positions such as President of bioScene Informatics Inc. and Interim Country Sales Manager, along with research roles at prestigious institutions such as Kyoto University and Karolinska Institutet, focusing on malaria research. Nicolas holds a PhD in Infectious Diseases from Karolinska Institutet and multiple degrees in Biology from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
