Leigh Perry has significant experience in software engineering, with a particular focus on leading roles. Perry's most recent position was as the Lead Software Engineer at Limepay, starting in August 2020. Prior to that, Perry worked at Simple Machines Pty Ltd starting in 2017, where they held various Lead Software Engineer positions. At Simple Machines, Perry worked on projects for clients such as IAG, Telstra, and Tabcorp, utilizing technologies such as Scala, Apache Spark, Hortonworks Data Platform, Apache Hive, AWS, Kafka, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Avro, Docker, Java, RxJava, RabbitMQ, Dagger2, Groovy, Oracle 12c database, MongoDB, and Wildfly. Perry also worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Westpac from December 2015 to December 2016, focusing on Java 8, RxJava, RabbitMQ, Dagger2, and automation of trade delivery to risk management systems. Prior to Westpac, Perry worked at Ericcson Inc as a Lead Software Engineer from August 2015 to November 2015, implementing end-to-end automation of satellite circuit commissioning and creating integration services for downstream systems. Perry's career in software engineering dates back to 1987.

Leigh Perry has an Honours degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from James Cook University.
