Lingren Zhang has extensive work experience in the technology and finance industries. They started their career as a Teaching Assistant and Researcher at Duke University from 2004 to 2008. They then worked as a Developer at Goldman Sachs from 2008 to 2010, where they created automated risk reports and developed scripts for financial modeling.
In 2015, they joined Wealthfront Inc. as a Senior Quantitative Developer, leading research on automated investment services and financial planning. They also authored a blog post on market timing.
From 2017 to 2021, Lingren worked at Google as a Software Engineer, where they led the development of data mining projects for Google Assistant. They successfully launched a machine learning-based ranker on Google Assistant and addressed data coverage problems using NLP models and KNN algorithms.
In 2021, they joined Uber as a Senior Software Engineer, and in 2022, they joined Lime as a Staff Software Engineer.
Lingren Zhang completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University between 2004 and 2008. They then pursued higher education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University between 2010 and 2015. Additionally, Lingren Zhang has earned several certifications in machine learning, such as "Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach", "Machine Learning: Classification", "Machine Learning: Clustering & Retrieval", and "Machine Learning: Regression" from Coursera in January 2017.
