Alec Chen is a skilled software engineer currently working at Lightspark since September 2023. Prior experience includes roles as an open source developer at Summer of Bitcoin from May to August 2023, and a forward deployed software engineer intern at Palantir Technologies during the summer of 2022. Alec also gained experience as a software engineer intern at AbbVie in 2021 and as a data science intern at Procter & Gamble earlier that same year. Additionally, Alec contributed as a network mathematics researcher at the Illinois Institute of Technology from November 2018 to September 2019. Alec is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, expected to graduate in 2024, and is a graduate of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy.
