Mathieu Himpe has a diverse range of work experience in the finance and technology industries. Mathieu currently works as an Investment Professional at Volpi Capital LLP since February 2020. In addition to this role, they serve as a Director at Lightfoot since October 2021 and as a Board Observer at Digital Barriers since June 2021. Mathieu also holds Board Observer positions at Cyclomedia Technology and Moving Intelligence since October and August 2020, respectively. Prior to these roles, Mathieu worked at Gimv as a Principal from June to December 2019 and as an Associate from May 2016 to June 2019, gaining valuable experience in investment management. Mathieu also held various Board positions at One of A Kind Technologies, ALT Technologies bv, Summa, and OTN Systems NV between 2016 and 2019.

Mathieu Himpe completed their secondary education at Heilig Hartcollege Waregem, where they focused on the Latin-Maths curriculum. Mathieu then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business engineering at KU Leuven from 2007 to 2010. Following this, they attended Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, earning a Master's degree in Business engineering from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Mathieu participated in a six-month exchange program at USP - Universidade de São Paulo in 2011, where they studied Economics and management. Finally, they attended Vlerick Business School from 2012 to 2013, where they obtained a Master in Financial Management.
