Steve Van Dam has had a long and varied career in the music industry. Steve began in 1989 as a musician, founder, and co-owner of the band Everything, best known for their hit song "Hooch". From 1992-2002, Everything toured extensively in the U.S. and abroad, building a sizable grass roots fan base in the process. In 1999, Van Dam became the Owner and President of Dojo Productions, a boutique production studio in Virginia, where they worked as a composer, producer, and musician. In 2001, they began working as a freelance producer and engineer in various studios. In 2005, they began working as a freelance composer and sound designer for Mophonics. In 2012, they founded Visual Interactive Music (VIM) and Light The Music, where they use their ORO Visual Music apps to teach Innovation, Digital Production, and Music Education.
Steve Van Dam attended James Madison University from 1987 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Music Theory and Composition and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in music. Steve also attended AHS, but no further information is provided.
