Rui Medeiros is a distinguished academic and professional in the field of oncology, currently serving as Professor and Coordinator of the Molecular Oncology and Viral Pathology group at the Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto since January 1995. Rui holds prominent positions including Member of the Board of Directors for the ECO European Cancer Organization since January 2024, President of the Association of European Cancer Leagues since November 2020, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro since December 2009. Other notable roles include serving as President for the 9th European Conference on Tobacco or Health from January 2022 to April 2023 and President for the 30th International Papillomavirus Conference in 2015.
