Andy Sponring

Software Engineer at Liftoff

Andy Sponring has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Andy started their career as a Media/Public Relations Intern at The Commonwealth Club of California in 2007. Andy then worked as a Research Analyst at Glass, Lewis & Co. in 2008 before transitioning into the technology industry. Andy joined Playdom, a startup making apps on social networks, in 2008 and grew to become an Associate Product Manager. Playdom was later acquired by Disney, where they continued to work as a Product Manager on popular games like Hidden Objects: Gardens of Time.

In 2013, Andy joined Kiwi, Inc. as a Product Manager and later moved on to Gaia Interactive as a Senior Product Manager. At Gaia, they launched two forum products and used SQL queries to track growth and monetization metrics.

In 2015, Andy attended Hack Reactor, an advanced software engineering immersive program, where they spent over 900 hours learning full stack web development and building apps using JavaScript technologies. Following that, they joined Liftoff, Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they are currently working.

Andy Sponring began their education in 2003 at the University of California, Berkeley, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in German. Andy attended this institution until 2007. In 2006, Andy also studied at The University of Göttingen, focusing on Germanistik and Anglistik.
