Vinay Hebbatam began their career in 2006 as an ASE at TCS, where they were responsible for parallelizing long running batch jobs into multiple jobs to reduce CPU execution time and automating the creation of user accounts. In 2012, they joined IIT Madras as a Project Associate, where they created a mathematical framework to characterize the Pareto boundary in MAC layer for a MISO cellular downlink scenario and derived optimization problems to achieve budget balance. In 2013, they moved to KLA Tencor as a Senior Software Engineer, where they understood domain knowledge and algorithms associated with inspecting and reviewing wafer defects during semiconductor fabrication, understood the existing software architecture, implemented changes and new features, and deployed C++ programs using ClearCase and Rational Time Concert. In 2014, they joined Knowles Intelligent Audio as a Technical Lead and Senior Software Engineer. Finally, in 2020, they joined LifeSignals Group as a Senior Staff Software Engineer.

Vinay Hebbatam holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, which they obtained between 2010 and 2013. Vinay also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engg., MYSORE, which they obtained between 2002 and 2006. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Data or Specimens Only Research from the CITI Program in 2021, DEV287x: Speech Recognition Systems from edX in 2019, Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera in 2019, and Sun Certified Java Programmer from Sun Microsystems in 2008.
