John Patton has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies. John started their career at Southern Natural Gas Company in 1986, where they held various engineering roles such as Engineer, Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Transmission Superintendent, Reengineering Team Leader, Manager of Reliability, and Manager of Systems Integrity. John then joined El Paso in 2005, serving as a Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer, Manager of Drafting, and later as a Consultant for Business Development Projects. In 2012, they moved to Kinder Morgan as a Supervisor, Corrosion, overseeing the corrosion control program for natural gas pipelines. From 2013 to 2020, John worked at Southern LNG as an Engineering Manager. John is currently the Director of Engineering at Liberty, a position they started in August 2021.
John Patton has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University, which they obtained between 1982 and 1985. John also holds a Master's degree in Theology/Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, which they completed from 2000 to 2006. Most recently, they pursued a Master's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management at Ohio University from 2018 to 2021. In addition to their formal education, John has obtained several certifications, including NACE International Individual Membership and Cathodic Protection Specialist from NACE International in 2013 and 2020, respectively. John also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, although the date of acquisition is not specified. Furthermore, John is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) recognized by the Alabama Board for Engineers and Land Surveyors.
