Brian King has a diverse work history in the education sector. Brian is currently the Founder and Executive Director of Liberation Academy since June 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Georgia Charter School Incubator Fellow at the Georgia Charter Schools Association from August 2019 to August 2021. Brian also worked as an Assistant Principal at Fulton County Schools from July 2020 to June 2021, and previously held the same role from February 2018 to August 2019. Additionally, they worked as an Administrative Assistant/Dean of Students at Fulton County Schools from July 2016 to February 2018. Brian has experience as a Teacher/Grade Level Chair at Latin Academy Charter School from July 2015 to June 2016. Brian also served as a Principal-In-Residence at Achievement Prep Public Charter School Network from July 2014 to June 2015, and as a Literacy Coach at The Main Street Academy from July 2013 to July 2014. Brian's career began as a Language Arts Instructor at Atlanta Public Schools from August 2011 to July 2013, and then at Fulton County Schools from July 2007 to October 2011.
Brian King completed their Bachelor's degree in English at Eastern Michigan University from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2007, they pursued a Master's degree in Secondary Education at the University of Michigan. Most recently, from 2017 to 2019, Brian attended the University of West Georgia, where they earned an EdS degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General.
