Robert Kappel, PhD, currently serves as the Senior Program Manager at LGBT Network since August 2022, having previously held the role of Program Manager. Prior to this position, Kappel worked at BBYO from January 2017 to August 2022 as the Regional Director for both the Big Apple Region and the GJHRR. Kappel's academic experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University from August 2013 to December 2016, where Kappel taught sociology courses and developed syllabi and curriculum. Earlier professional experience includes being an Interviewer at the Research Foundation for SUNY from September 2011 to August 2013, focusing on surveys related to gambling activities in the United States and Native American communities. Kappel holds a PhD in Sociology from the University at Buffalo, alongside a Master’s degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Anthropology from Tulane University.
