Sung-Gul Hwang currently serves as Senior Vice President and Head of Design at LG Electronics, overseeing design functions across multiple sectors including home appliances, entertainment, and vehicle components, while also leading the Customer Experience Lab to develop future product and service designs. As a Full Professor at Hongik University, Sung-Gul Hwang is responsible for advanced education in UX and service design, having renewed the undergraduate curriculum in 2020. With extensive experience as a juror for the Korea Design Awards and positions held at notable companies such as Motorola Mobility and the Pyeongchang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Winter Olympics, Sung-Gul Hwang has demonstrated leadership and influence in the field of design and innovation, recognized as a top leadership demonstrator in 2021. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Human Centered Design from the Institute of Design and a PhD in Integrated Design from Yonsei University.
