Dr. Brad Topol is an IBM Distinguished Engineer with extensive experience in AI and Cloud Open Technologies, currently serving as the Director of AI and Cloud Open Technologies and Chief Developer Advocate at IBM since August 1998. Leading a large open-source development team, Brad contributes to Kubernetes and various other cloud-native projects. In addition to roles focused on Open Technology and Developer Advocacy, Brad has actively participated in OpenStack development and has been responsible for cross-IBM contributions to the platform. Brad holds positions on the governing boards of the LF AI & Data Foundation and the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, where contributions include documentation maintenance and leadership in the Kubernetes SIG Docs Localization Subgroup. Brad earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Emory University.
