Doug Tattershall

Community Arts Manager at Lexington Public Library

Doug Tattershall currently serves as the Community Arts Manager at Lexington Public Library, overseeing a full-service theater and two art galleries while fostering community arts initiatives. Tattershall has also held the position of Media Relations Coordinator for a government agency, where an institutional media plan and social media strategy were developed. In addition to these roles, Tattershall works as a historian for the document "Belle Brezing and the Gilded Age of the Bluegrass," and authored the biography "Belle Brezing: American Magdalene," which informed the video documentary "Belle Watling and the Gilded Age." Previous experience includes serving as an Information Specialist at the University of Kentucky's Office of Public Relations and Strategic Communication, as well as a Staff Writer for The Advocate-Messenger, covering crime, courts, and education. Tattershall has participated in genealogy education at the National Genealogical Society Family History Conference and RootsTech.
