Otto Briner has a varied work experience. From 2011 to 2015, they worked in a variety of roles at different companies. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Tent Crew at Circus Smirkus, where they were responsible for setting up, tearing down, and transporting tents, as well as building and repairing equipment. In 2013, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Biomechatronics, where they designed and built several rounds of prototypes for an experimental ankle prosthesis and constructed a soundproof box for an in-lab air compressor. In 2014, they worked as an Apprentice at Dipak Badhya Das Tablas, where they designed and built Indian classical drums for two months under the tutelage of master luthiers Ashim and Dipak Das. Otto also worked as a Project Manager/Lead Engineer at Ironwoman, where they designed and built an experimental power generator for forward Marine camps, and designed and implemented an experimental metallurgic fuel manufacturing process. Finally, from 2015 to present, they have worked as an Engineering Consultant and Mechanical Design Engineer at Lexington Medical, Inc.
