Ellington Churchill began their work experience as a Project Manager at Lewis Contractors in 1994. Ellington then moved on to become a Senior Project Manager at Liberty Property Trust in 2006. In 2011, they joined Lewis Contractors again, this time as Director of Business Development. In 2015, they became Deputy Secretary at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. The following year, in 2016, they were appointed as Cabinet Secretary at the Maryland Department of General Services. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Administration at Lewis Contractors starting from 2023.
Ellington Churchill earned a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech between 1988 and 1993. Ellington then pursued further education in Construction Management, obtaining a Masters of Science degree from Virginia Tech between 1993 and 1994. Furthermore, they completed an unspecified degree at The United States Army War College in 2018.
