Hugh Cam

Director of Research at Leveragen

Hugh Cam has extensive experience in research and academia. Hugh is currently the Director of Research at Leveragen since November 2022. Previously, they worked at Boston College as an Assistant Professor from September 2009 to June 2016, where they supervised a research lab focused on epigenetic regulation of transcriptome and genome organization. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) from February 2004 to August 2009, where they conducted research on the epigenetic landscapes of fission yeast. Hugh also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU Langone Medical Center from January 2003 to January 2004, where they investigated gene regulatory networks and crosstalks related to growth, cell cycle control, and mitochondrial biogenesis.

Hugh Cam completed their Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin, from 1992 to 1997. Hugh then pursued further education and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Harvard University, from 1997 to 2002.
